Description
The Mesilife DMT-2055 is a flexible-tip digital thermometer that can be used orally, under the arm or rectally. The flexible tip matters for comfort and safety with babies and small children: if the child moves, the tip bends rather than resisting. The unit reads from 32.0 to 42.9 °C and is accurate to ±0.1 °C across 35.5–42.0 °C, the band that matters when following a fever — that is the resolution which makes small changes meaningful. The 3½-digit LCD shows the value to one decimal place, and the last-reading memory lets you compare with the previous measurement; whether a fever is rising or falling is usually answered by successive readings rather than one. Around 200 hours of battery life means long household use before a cell change. Remember that normal values differ by site: an underarm reading runs lower than an oral one, and an oral reading lower than a rectal one, so always follow a fever from the same site. The thermometer comes with its own carrying case; clean the tip by the method the manufacturer specifies.
