Description
An anti-embolism stocking is a medical stocking that applies pressure decreasing from the ankle upwards to support venous circulation in the leg. The MS400 100 is made in a below-knee length, aimed at supporting blood flow in the lower half of the leg during periods of restricted movement. The Lycra and nylon blend keeps the stocking's shape through the day so it delivers even pressure, and its anatomical pattern follows WHO standards. It is chosen for varicose veins and varicosities, oedema, the period after childbirth and surgery, after sclerotherapy or laser treatment, for prevention and for daily wear. It comes in five sizes, and the right size should be chosen by measuring the leg: a stocking that is too tight restricts circulation, while one that is too loose will not deliver the intended pressure. It is best put on in the morning, before the leg has swollen. Your doctor should decide how long and in which situations it is worn. If a thigh-length version is needed, the MS400 200 is available.
