Description
The SC 1001 is a seat cushion shaped as a ring with a central opening. That opening takes body weight off the tailbone and perineum while seated and transfers it to the buttock muscles, so the sensitive area makes no direct contact — this is the cushion's whole purpose. At around 40 cm in diameter it fits standard chairs, wheelchairs and car seats. It is used to make sitting easier in haemorrhoid complaints, tailbone pain, the postnatal period and after local surgery. The closed full-ring model spreads support around the circumference more evenly than the open-ended version; if an open layout is preferred, the SC 1004 is available. Where a viscoelastic (slow-recovery) foam is preferred, the SC 1001 V is the alternative. Even with the cushion, if you must sit for long periods it is advisable to stand up and change position at intervals.
