Description
The SC 1001 V is the viscoelastic foam version of the standard ring cushion. Viscoelastic foam softens with body heat, takes the shape of the seated surface and returns slowly to its original form when you stand — behaviour that spreads weight across the contact area instead of concentrating it at one point. That is the difference from standard foam: the same ring shape combined with more adaptive pressure distribution. The central opening keeps the tailbone and perineal area off the seating surface. It is used in haemorrhoid complaints, tailbone pain, the postnatal period and after local surgery. At around 40 cm in diameter it works on chairs, wheelchairs and car seats. Viscoelastic foam behaves softer in warm conditions and firmer in cold, which explains the difference you feel when first sitting down. If an open-ended model is preferred, the SC 1004 is available.
