Description
A colostomy belt is designed to make daily life easier for people using an ostomy pouch. By giving balanced support across the abdomen it helps keep the pouch in place, which reduces the worry of the pouch shifting while walking, bending or doing everyday tasks. The breathable monofilament fabric allows all-day wear. Two removable stays keep the belt upright at abdominal level, and taking them out gives a more flexible fit if preferred. The belt sits comfortably under clothing and is not visible from outside. Short (16 cm) and long (26 cm) versions are produced; the right height depends on the position of the stoma and the wearer's torso. Size is chosen by waist or abdominal circumference — if you feel pressure around the stoma, loosen the belt and consult your stoma care nurse.
