Description
This product differs from the non-sterile version in its packaging and sterility: each blade is cleaned, sanded and then individually sterilised inside its own paper wrapper, supplied in a box of 100. Individual sterile wrapping brings two practical advantages — the remaining blades keep their sterility after the box is opened, and only the blade about to be used is unwrapped, so the others are never handled. The sterile version is chosen for procedures requiring a sterile field, for immunosuppressed patients and in settings where infection control is a priority; the non-sterile version is sufficient for routine throat examination. The blades have a smooth finish, which reduces scratching of the oral mucosa and the risk of splinters. Blades whose wrapper is torn, wet or already opened are no longer sterile and should not be used. The product is single use. Store the box in a dry place away from moisture.
