Half-Face Silicone Respirator

Description

A half-face respirator consists of a silicone facepiece covering the nose and mouth plus the filter cartridges fitted to it, and it is used to protect the airway during pesticide spraying, painting and varnishing, work with cleaning chemicals and in dusty environments. The facepiece is soft silicone elastomer, which conforms to the face over a long shift and seals far better than a disposable mask. The bayonet mount lets you fit different filters and cartridges to the same mask according to the job — the level of protection is set by the filter you fit, not by the mask itself, so you must check the label of the chemical you are using and choose the correct filter class. The twin-filter layout splits the airflow between two paths, lowering breathing resistance and reducing fatigue over long periods of wear. The low-profile design limits how much the mask blocks your view when looking down. Protection depends on the contact between the face and the facepiece: a beard, sideburns or spectacle arms will break the seal. Carry out a positive and negative pressure check before every use, clean the facepiece regularly, and change filters when their service life ends or when you begin to smell or taste the contaminant.
