Description
The HS-OT10 is an otoscope for examining the external ear canal and the eardrum. Its illumination is fibre-optic: light is carried around the outside of the viewing path through a fibre bundle, so there is no shadow or glare in the centre of the field and the eardrum appears evenly lit from edge to edge. The xenon halogen lamp gives a whiter light than a standard bulb, which matters where colour distinction guides the examination. The 3× viewing window is scratch resistant and does not cloud easily during cleaning. The set includes eight reusable specula in four sizes, covering both paediatric and adult examinations. The housing is durable and easy to clean, which suits it to a busy outpatient setting. Specula must be cleaned properly between patients.
