Description
The 400410 is the version of the Merocel standard nasal dressing with an airway channel running through it. Its function is the same: inserted dry and compressed, it absorbs blood and secretions, expands and applies pressure spread evenly across the nasal cavity. The difference is that the central channel does not close off nasal breathing entirely, which noticeably improves comfort when bilateral packing is needed — the patient is not forced to mouth-breathe for days. The material is polyvinyl acetal (PVA) sponge with fully open pores, holding up to 21 times its own weight in fluid. The 8 cm standard length is intended for adult use after septoplasty, rhinoplasty and turbinate surgery. It is single use; insertion and removal should be performed by a clinician.
