Description
A suction unit clears secretions from the mouth, throat and airway of people who cannot cough them up themselves, keeping the airway open. It is a core home-care device for bed-bound patients, tracheostomy users and anyone with swallowing difficulty. The Mesilife BR-SM153 offers vacuum pressure adjustable between 500 and 550 mmHg; adjustability matters, because working at the lower end with children and fragile mucosa reduces the risk of tissue injury. A flow of 17 litres per minute gives effective pull even with thick secretions. The 1000 ml transparent jar lets you see how much has been collected during a session and monitor how full it is getting. The unit is built into a portable case, so it can move between rooms or travel to hospital appointments. Following the cleaning and disinfection instructions for the jar and tubing after every use is critical to reducing infection risk.
