Description
An alternating-pressure air mattress is used to stop pressure resting continuously on one part of the body in someone confined to bed; the pump inflates and deflates the cells in turn so the contact point shifts every few minutes. The Mesilife CWAP-1 is the bubble type: its 130 small cells divide the load across many more points than a tube mattress, which is why this format is usually chosen for preventive use. The mattress measures 200 × 90 × 6.5 cm and is designed to lie on top of a standard single hospital bed mattress — check the internal dimensions of your bed frame before ordering. The pump uses a mechanical valve system and runs quietly, which matters when you consider it stays on all night in the patient's room; its low power draw matters for the same reason. The mattress is made from medical-grade PVC and can be wiped clean.
