Description
A peak flow meter measures the fastest airflow you can produce in a forced breath out (PEF), a figure that can reveal airway narrowing before symptoms become obvious — which is why it is used to track asthma. The Mesilife DL-F03 reads from 60 to 800 litres per minute, a span that covers both children and adults. It needs no batteries or mains power: when you blow into the mouthpiece the sliding pointer stops at the highest value, which you read off and then reset to zero. Zone markers can be set against the personal best value your doctor establishes, so you can see at a glance which range a reading falls into and follow the action plan your doctor has given you. For a reliable result, measure standing upright, repeat three times and record the highest value. Cleaning the mouthpiece regularly and measuring at the same time each day keeps the record meaningful.
