Description
An oxygen regulator brings the high-pressure oxygen in a cylinder down to a level that can be delivered to a patient and humidifies it at the same time; a cylinder cannot be used on its own, and without this regulator in between there is no therapy. It provides a constant outlet pressure of 3.5–4 kg/cm² and the gas flow can be set to the litre rate the doctor specifies, working over 0–10 L/min or 0–15 L/min depending on the model. The gauge shows how much oxygen is left in the cylinder, so you can see a change coming rather than being caught out. The humidifier bottle is clear, letting you check the water level without opening it. There is a 50 micron protective filter in the device and a 100 micron filter in the humidifier. It can be fitted by hand or with a spanner. The product complies with EN 738-1 and comes with one nasal oxygen cannula. Fill the humidifier only with sterile distilled water, and change the water daily.
