Description
A toilet riser sits on top of the WC pan to reduce how far the hip and knee have to bend when getting on and off the toilet. After hip surgery, doctors commonly ask that the hip is not flexed beyond a certain angle; a riser is what makes that restriction workable at home. For the same reason it is used after knee surgery and by older people with reduced muscle strength. No plumbing work is involved: it lifts on and off, so it does not affect others using the same bathroom and can be cleaned separately. The rigid plastic surface wipes down easily. Before each use, check that the riser is seated squarely on the pan and does not move — a loose riser can shift as you stand. Ask your doctor or physiotherapist what seat height you need during your recovery.
