Description
The pump is the part of an alternating-pressure mattress system that produces the air cycle, inflating and deflating cells in turn so that pressure never rests on one point of the body. This replacement unit saves changing the whole system when the mattress itself is sound but the pump has failed or grown noisy. It hangs on the end of the bed frame and connects to the mattress with two air hoses; on first start-up the inflation setting is matched to the patient's weight. Continuous running is normal, since the pressure cycle must not be interrupted. Before ordering, confirm that your mattress hose fitting and connector type match this unit — bubble-type and tube-type mattresses can differ.
