Description
The Roll padded film dressing is made by setting a non-adherent absorbent pad in the centre of a transparent polyurethane film backing. The clearest advantage of the film layer is that it is see-through: you can inspect an incision line or a cannula site without lifting the dressing, so redness and discharge can be monitored without a dressing change. The same film forms a barrier against water and micro-organisms from outside, while remaining permeable to water vapour so the skin beneath is not sealed airless. The central pad is designed not to adhere to the wound, so newly formed tissue is not disturbed when the dressing comes off. It is used on surgical incision lines, IV entry sites, abrasions and superficial wounds producing light exudate; for heavily exuding wounds a foam dressing is the better choice. Apply it to clean, dry, oil-free skin and lay the film down without stretching it. Contact us for pack sizes and sterility details.
