Description
Suprasorb H is a wound dressing made from an absorbent hydrocolloid matrix applied to a breathable polyurethane carrier film. The matrix absorbs exudate quickly and turns into a cohesive gel, creating the moist environment that is a well-established approach to healing superficial wounds. Because the polyurethane carrier film is highly permeable to water vapour, moisture does not build up excessively under the dressing, which lowers the risk of damage to the healthy skin around the wound. The dressing can stay in place for up to seven days — a real advantage where frequent changes tire the patient and disturb new tissue. It is intended for non-infected superficial wounds with low to moderate exudate; it is not suitable for wounds showing signs of infection or producing heavy exudate, where a foam or silver alginate dressing should be considered instead. The Suprasorb H range includes standard, thin, sacrum and bordered versions.
