Description
This is the medium-compression (CCL2) version of the below-knee stocking, used when the complaint is concentrated in the calf but light compression is not enough. Pressure is highest at the ankle and decreases upward; that graduated profile is what supports upward circulation. CCL2 garments should be selected on medical advice, because the pressure level has to match the individual's venous condition. Measure ankle and lower-calf circumference for the correct size — a stocking chosen without measuring will either feel tight or fail to give the intended support. Put it on in the morning while the legs are rested and remove it at night. Hand washing in lukewarm water and drying flat on a towel noticeably extends its working life.
