Description
The Epi-Derm long strip is silicone gel sheeting made for scars that run along a single long line. For caesarean incisions, abdominal surgery scars and knee or spinal surgery scars — where the scar is far longer than it is wide — a narrow strip uses less material than a large square sheet and conforms better to the skin. The moist, occlusive environment silicone creates helps the scar tissue soften and flatten over time. The strip can be cut shorter to match the scar. It is worn up to 12 hours at a time and is suitable overnight. Washed with a non-foaming, fragrance-free cleanser and dried, it lasts around 2–3 weeks. The product is non-sterile and is applied only after the incision has fully closed.
