Description
The Epi-Derm standard sheet is silicone gel sheeting used on raised (hypertrophic) scars after surgery or trauma, on keloids and on burn scars. Silicone sheeting creates an occlusive, moisture-retaining environment over the scar, which helps the scar tissue soften and flatten over time — the reason it has long been a standard part of scar management. At roughly 12 × 14.5 cm, this size covers medium to large scars on the torso or wraps around a limb, and it can be trimmed to match the scar. It can be worn for up to 12 hours at a time, day or night. The sheet is not single-use: washed with a non-foaming, fragrance-free cleanser and dried, it typically lasts 2–3 weeks. The product is non-sterile and is applied to a closed scar, not to an open wound.
