Half-Length Arch Support Insole

Description

This insole differs from the flat half-length model in the same family by its pronounced arch support. The arch of the foot works like a natural spring that spreads load during each step; when it drops, load shifts to the inner edge, which can contribute to complaints in the sole and heel and, over time, in the knee and lower back. The insole's flexible arch section fills the space beneath the arch so the load is shared across that area too. Flexibility matters here: a rigid arch support can cause pressure pain in a foot unused to it, while a flexible one works with the foot through the step. Being half-length, it does not reach the toes and does not tighten the forefoot of the shoe. The top surface is leather over an activated carbon layer; the leather absorbs moisture and the carbon holds odour. The soft cushion at the heel reduces the impact on the heel when walking on hard ground. When moving to a new arch support, keep the first few days to short wearing periods, as arch support needs an adaptation period. Marked flat foot, excessive pronation or continuous pain may require a custom insole prescribed after a clinical assessment.
