Description
This gel compress lets you do both cold and hot application with a single item. For cold use you chill the pack in the freezer; for heat you warm it in boiled water — which removes the need to keep a separate ice pack and hot water bottle. The most useful property of the gel is that it stays soft when frozen: it does not stiffen below -20 °C, so it still wraps around contoured parts of the body and keeps a broad contact area. The 13 × 27 cm size suits the wrist, knee, elbow, shoulder and neck; for the back, choose a larger sheet. Do not apply the pack straight onto skin — place a thin cloth between it and the skin, and keep application times short. The compress can be used again and again, and should be dried before storage.
