Description
This protective eyewear shields the eyes from flying particles and aerosol in the dental laboratory and at the chair. Trimming plaster, finishing acrylic, working with burs and separating discs, polishing and sandblasting all throw off particles at high speed, so none of these tasks should be carried out without eye protection. At the chair, the aerosol and splatter produced during cavity preparation and scaling can reach the eyes of the operator and the assistant. The clear, wide lens protects without cutting off peripheral vision of the working area; wearers of prescription glasses should choose an over-spectacle design. Wipe the eyewear with a suitable disinfectant between patients, and avoid abrasive cleaners and rough cloths that scratch the lens. A scratched or cracked lens both impairs vision and loses impact resistance, so it should be replaced.
