Description
Adhesor is a classic self-curing zinc phosphate cement supplied as powder and liquid. It is used as a base layer under amalgam and composite restorations, for temporary fillings, for crown and bridge cementation and for root canal filling. The mixing ratio can be varied with the task: 2 scoops of powder to 3 drops of liquid gives a working time of 4:00–4:30 minutes at 23 °C, while 2 scoops to 5 drops shortens it to 3:00–4:00 minutes. Setting is complete in 6 to 8 minutes at 37 °C and compressive strength is above 70 MPa. A thin, flowing mix is wanted for cementation and a thicker one for basing, so the powder quantity is adjusted accordingly. Mixing should be done on a cold, thick glass slab, incorporating powder into the liquid in small increments, since warmth noticeably shortens the working time of the mix. The material is offered in two shades, light (1) and dark (2), as an 80 g powder + 55 g liquid kit with separate refills available.
