Description
This roll is from the Tex Gold line by Kinesio, the original kinesiology taping brand, and measures 5 centimetres wide by 5 metres long. The beige (skin tone) colour is chosen by users who prefer the tape not to show under clothing or on exposed areas; colour does not change the weave, elasticity or adhesive. The weave is engineered to approximate the elasticity of skin — the structure the brand calls 'nano-touch' imitates the hand contact of manual therapy so sensory input to the skin is felt continuously. The adhesive surface is thinner and lower in tack; the 'micro-grip' structure lets the tape sit lightly while its tight fibrils keep it anchored. 'Micro-stimulation' describes the tape being designed not to irritate the skin. Most of the result comes down to application technique: correct tension and direction require knowledge of muscle anatomy. Clean, dry, lotion-free skin before application makes the tape last longer.
