Description
A patellar tendon strap is a narrow support worn just below the kneecap, over the patellar tendon. It applies controlled pressure to that area to support painful conditions around the kneecap, and is widely used in sports with repeated running and jumping loads. It comes in one size and the hook-and-loop closure sets the tension, so it adapts easily to different knee circumferences. It grips without sliding and is thin enough to wear under clothing, which makes it practical outside training as well. A strap gives far less enclosed support than a full brace; if the kneecap needs to be surrounded or the collateral ligaments supported, a patella knee brace is the better choice.
