Description

A phantom jaw model is the upper and lower arch set used in dental training so that preparation, restorative, crown and bridge and endodontic exercises can be carried out under conditions close to the mouth. The model teeth are screw mounted and can be removed and replaced individually, so the same jaw base stays in service for years while only the tooth being worked on is renewed. The flexible gingiva mask gives feedback close to real soft tissue during subgingival margin work and incision or suturing exercises, which adds to its teaching value. The model is fixed to a phantom head or simulation unit through its base; check before ordering that the mounting matches the phantom head you have. Because worn teeth and gingiva masks are available separately as spares, the whole model rarely needs replacing. It is a standard piece of training equipment in faculties, vocational schools and in-practice programmes.
