Description
A silicone hand exercise ball is squeezed and released in the palm to apply controlled resistance to the hand and finger muscles. It is used in exercise programmes that rebuild hand function after surgery or a cast, and by anyone working on grip strength. The balls are made in different firmnesses, with each colour marking a resistance level; the usual approach is to start with a softer ball and move to a firmer one as strength returns. Silicone gives a smooth, repeatable resistance, and the small size makes it easy to carry and use through the day. Session length and repetitions — especially after surgery — should be set by a physiotherapist or doctor, and you should not push through a point where you feel pain.
